| Day 1 |
Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile. |
| Day 2 |
Prepare equipment for the flight to Antarctica. |
| Day 3 |
Board a charter flight to Antarctica and the Patriot Hills
basecamp. The weather is unpredictable so the flight is
often delayed. |
| Day 4 |
Acclimatize to the altitude and temperature and
get ready for the trek. |
| Day 5 |
Weather permitting, fly to 89 degrees South for the
beginning of the expedition. A mess tent for expeditions
and beautiful surroundings make Patriot Hills a relatively
comfortable place to spend time. |
| Day 6-14 |
Ski towards the South Pole. Days will be spent
skiing across the polar plateau, taking occasional
breaks to stay hydrated and fed. Rest in the
tents each evening and feast on high-calorie meals. |
| Day 15 |
All being well, arrive at the South Pole! Celebrate with
champagne, shoot some photographs and call home from
the bottom of the world. Camp near the South Pole and
await our return flight to Patriot Hills. |
| Day 16 |
Depart for the flight to Patriot Hills. |
| Day 17 |
Depart for the return flight to Punta Arenas and
then home to Canada! |
