I bought these because I got a job working outside in Minnesota. I wear SmartWool socks and I can stay outside in 20 below weather for several hours and never get cold. I love these boots!

I really like the boots but had to wear them in the freezing temperatures and snow without a toggle for the gaitor on the right boot. I had the boots shipped directly to Montana in January for my trip into Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. When I unpacked the boots mid-February, I found the broken toggle in the bottom of the shipping box. Even though the boots are rated -147 degrees F, I had to use toe warmers as I was standing still observing wildlife activity and recording data. In the past, I wore winter hiking boots rated -30 degrees F with 2 pairs of wool socks with two toe warmers in each boot and still suffered extremely cold and painful toes. Glad to report that these boots kept me so much more comfortable!
