I conduct a winter backpacking seminar for the NY/NJ AMC every year and now recomend Baffin boots as the best option for NE winter hiking, BP and snowshoeing.
Great value and as warm as you need for the conditions and personal requirements.

I have had a pair of Edge boots for twenty years.  The current liners are thicker and do not fit the older boots.  I purchased a pair of Maple to replace the Edge and find them warmer.  For colder temperatures and more chalenging conditions in the White MT I use Terrain boots.
