As close to a sandal as you can get, but a lot pro September 5, 2012
Reviewer: Peter Mcclure from Alberta
I've tried my Amazons for walking around the city and for hiking in the Rockies.

On urban trails the shoes are great. I like the comfort, and the traction is very good. I've found  pebbles stuck inside the  drainage slots, but they were easy to flick out.

The wider toe box leaves lots of space; you won't have a problem with your toes getting crowded. There is also a rubber bumper around the front, so you won't have to worry about stubbing your toes. The water drainage systems work very well, and the metal mesh inside the soles stops sticks from poking into your foot.

In the mountains, the Amazons are light enough to carry as your camp shoes or clipped to your pack for water crossings.  Not enough support for a scree slope or a summit, but fine for most of the lower level  trails in the National Parks.

This is as close as you can get to wearing your comfortable old sandals, without having to worry about getting pebbles inside or your toes getting bumped on the rocks.
