Ray Zahab

Inspiring the Next Generation Through Adventure

Canadian explorer and
ultra-distance runner Ray Zahab has spent decades pushing the
limits of human endurance in some of the most remote and extreme environments
on Earth.

A long-standing member of
the Baffin Field Testing Team, Ray has field-tested Baffin footwear
and apparel on expeditions across deserts, glaciers, and polar landscapes
around the world. His journeys embody the spirit of exploration and resilience
that defines Baffin’s Real-World Tested™ philosophy.

Ray’s expeditions have
taken him to more than 70 countries and include a 7,500 km run across the
Sahara Desert completed over 111 days—an achievement documented in the
award-winning film Running the Sahara. Today, he continues to lead
expeditions into some of the planet’s most remote environments while inspiring
people around the world to push beyond perceived limits.

Through every challenge,
Ray represents what it means to explore with purpose, preparation, and
perseverance.

"Limitations are often self-imposed. When you step outside your comfort zone, incredible things can happen."

Ray Zahab

Real-World Tested™ in the Planet’s Most Extreme Environments

From hauling sleds across Arctic ice to navigating remote winter terrain, Ray’s expeditions demand equipment that can withstand extreme cold, unpredictable weather, and long days in unforgiving environments.

For years, Ray has tested Baffin product in real expedition conditions, providing valuable feedback that helps ensure the gear performs where it matters most. These environments are far removed from controlled testing—they represent the true proving grounds for footwear designed to endure the harshest climates on Earth.

Ray’s work in the field reinforces Baffin’s commitment to building gear that is Real-World Tested™ by explorers, adventurers, and professionals who depend on performance in extreme conditions.

Impossible2Possible

In 2008, Ray founded Impossible2Possible, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring youth through adventure-based learning.

Through i2P expeditions and educational programming, students from around the world participate in real-time learning experiences connected to remote expeditions. By combining exploration with education, the program encourages young people to challenge perceived limitations and develop the confidence to pursue ambitious goals.

Students participate directly on expeditions or follow along virtually from classrooms worldwide, learning about science, geography, climate, and personal resilience along the way.

The mission is simple but powerful: to show the next generation that extraordinary achievements begin
with believing they are possible.

Adventure With Purpose

Throughout his career, Ray has used exploration as a platform to raise awareness for global issues and inspire the next generation of explorers.

From environmental education to youth empowerment, his expeditions are designed to create impact far beyond the journey itself. By connecting classrooms to real-world exploration and sharing stories from the field, Ray demonstrates how curiosity, perseverance, and adventure can inspire meaningful change.

Together with Baffin, Ray continues to explore the planet’s most challenging environments—proving that when preparation meets determination, extraordinary journeys are possible.
