TOGETHER THROUGH EVERY SEASON: BAFFIN AND THE CFL

United by a shared passion for performance, toughness and Canadian heritage, Baffin and the Canadian Football League (CFL) have built a partnership designed for every condition. Since 2022, Baffin has proudly served as the Official Boot of the CFL and the Grey Cup, supporting the league, its athletes and its fans through seasons of celebration, competition and community. As this partnership continues to evolve, we’re taking a moment to revisit some of the standout experiences and initiatives along the way.
Boots On the Ground (and Sideline)
As the official boot of the Grey Cup, Baffin has proudly had boots on the ground to celebrate the big game since the 109th Grey Cup in 2022.
Baffin has outfitted the CFL team with boots for gamedays, proving that they’re a perfect fit for not only outdoor adventures, but also for the sideline. For the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, we produced exclusive CFL x Baffin jackets to be worn in stadium and on the field. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney was even spotted wearing the jacket during the pre-game ceremonies.
To further celebrate Canada’s biggest football event, Baffin has hosted annual social media giveaways, offering fans the chance to win Grey Cup experiences complete with airfare, accommodations and game tickets. The contests have created memorable opportunities for fans to be part of the excitement in person.
The Grey Cup Hits the Trail
In the Fall of 2023, Baffin’s Senior Vice President, Mark Hubner embarked on a Real-World Testing™ expedition – an end-to-end hike of Canada’s oldest and longest marked footpath, the Bruce Trail. Mark covered over 900 km, from Tobermory, Ontario, through the Niagara Region by the end of the Winter season. Along the way, he was joined by celebrity guests, family members, and the Baffin community.
To celebrate the 110th Grey Cup being hosted in Hamilton that year, Mark took “the road to Grey Cup” to the trails and carried the Grey Cup to end the section of the Bruce Trail at Uli’s Stairs – Devil’s Punchbowl.
Fan of the Year
For the past two seasons, Baffin and the CFL have teamed up to celebrate the league’s most dedicated supporters through the CFL Fan of the Year contest. Fans from across Canada entered by sharing what makes their passion for the CFL truly extraordinary. One finalist representing each of the league’s nine teams advanced to a public voting round, where Canadians helped crown the ultimate fan. Winners received an unforgettable prize package featuring a tailgate experience with the Grey Cup trophy, season tickets for the following season, $1.5K in Baffin products, CFL merchandise and more. 2024 CFL Fan of the Year – Kelly Hallett
While Kelly was out for the season, her spirit was still in the stands! 2024 was the first season that Kelly wasn’t able to attend a Bomber’s game. Kelly donated her kidney at the start of the season – a selfless act of giving the gift of life. With this, she found herself watching every game on TSN instead. Despite the absence from the stands, this experience has allowed her to have a better appreciation of all teams across the league and a deeper understanding of the divisions.
2025 CFL Fan of the Year – Shari Hodges
Shari and her family are die-hard Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans, but their love extends to the CFL as a whole. For them, there’s nothing quite like the energy and camaraderie of connecting with fans from every team across the country. One of their favorite traditions is traveling to every stadium in Canada to watch the Tiger-Cats play, soaking in the thrill of cheering for their team—especially in rival arenas. For Shari, it’s all about the game, the fans, and the unforgettable moments that come from being part of the CFL family.
