OUR HERITAGE

Baffin was founded in 1979 by the Hubner family in Stoney Creek, Ontario. With a passion for innovation and an uncompromising dedication to quality, the Hubners built Baffin into a trusted name in cold-climate footwear. Rooted in Canadian Winters and with a deep respect for the natural world, the brand established a reputation for delivering warmth, comfort and durability when it matters most.

In 2018, Baffin joined Canada Goose, marking an important chapter in the brand’s growth and helping further strengthen Baffin’s position in cold-climate performance.

In 2026, Baffin began its next chapter as part of L.P. Royer inc., a Canadian, family-owned footwear company with more than 90 years of expertise in technical footwear. With a shared commitment to Canadian craftsmanship, innovation and performance, Baffin continues to build on the foundation established in 1979 while remaining focused on what has always defined the brand: creating purpose-built products for life in the cold.
