2010 kicked off with a bold start for the Baffin team – a challenging and successful winter summit of Mount Rainier, one of North America’s most formidable peaks. Known as one of the most dangerous active volcanoes in the world, Mount Rainier stands at 14,411 ft, making it the highest mountain in both Washington State and the Cascade Range. Its massive glaciers and volatile weather systems offer no easy passage – especially in winter.
Paul Hubner and his middle son Brent trained extensively for the climb, preparing for both the physical demands and the unpredictable elements. Outfitted in Baffin’s performance apparel, they seized a narrow weather window and reached the summit – a powerful testament to their preparation, perseverance and the gear they relied on.
This expedition not only reinforced Baffin’s commitment to testing in the world’s harshest conditions – it also proved that even in extreme environments, the right apparel system can make all the difference.
