In January 2018, Baffin embarked on the Explore Your Outdoors Expedition, a 1,000-kilometre winter cycling journey around Lake Ontario. This ambitious adventure, led by Mark Hubner and Product Tester Brent Hubner, alongside Chris Surette and Jan-Sebastian La Pierre from A for Adventure, began from Baffin's head office in Stoney Creek, Ontario.
The primary objective was twofold: to rigourously test Baffin's gear in extreme Canadian winter conditions and to raise funds for Amici Camping Charity, supporting youth in financial need to experience the transformative power of summer camp. The team cycled through challenging terrains, enduring sub-zero temperatures and unpredictable weather, while engaging with local communities to promote outdoor exploration.
Throughout the expedition, Baffin's gear, including the POLAR MITT, was put to the test, demonstrating its effectiveness in keeping the team warm and dry. The journey not only tested the durability of Baffin products but also underscored the company's commitment to real-world testing and community involvement.
The expedition concluded successfully, having raised over $35,000 for Amici, and highlighted the importance of outdoor experiences in youth development. The team's resilience and the performance of Baffin's gear exemplified the brand's dedication to quality and community engagement.
