Real-World Tested™

Alaskan Frontier

rich-text

In 2025, Baffin ventured into Hallo Bay, Alaska – one of North America’s most remote coastal wildernesses and an iconic grizzly bear habitat – for the capstone product testing expedition of our Terrain Collection. Partnering with The SOSA, a conservation-forward adventure company led by Baffin Field Team member Blake Moynes, and wildlife photographer Charlee Wild, the team faced mist-laden coastal air, shifting sand, frigid stream crossings, and long shoreline treks.

This was more than product validation – it was the culmination of months of rigorous field testing, bringing the Terrain Collection to its final and most challenging proving ground. The expedition became a convergence of purpose and performance, amplifying awareness for habitat preservation while proving that Baffin footwear and apparel can thrive in unpredictable, demanding conditions.

Conservation & Contribution

Baffin Field Team Member Blake Moynes founded The SOSA to merge adventure with purpose – creating experiences that inspire action and directly support conservation. For the Alaskan Frontier expedition, Blake and The SOSA team led the journey into Hallo Bay, ensuring every step respected its fragile coastal grizzly habitat.

Partnering with Charlee Wild of Friends of the Wild, they combined sustainable travel, wildlife education, and powerful storytelling to spotlight the importance of protecting one of North America’s most unique ecosystems.

Conservation in Focus

Hallo Bay is home to one of the world’s highest concentrations of coastal grizzly bears – a delicate ecosystem where wildlife and landscape exist in rare harmony. Through expeditions like the Alaskan Frontier, Baffin works with partners to amplify conservation messages and support organizations working to protect wild spaces for generations to come.
